I absolutely love holidays but all those decorations can get a little pricey, especially when you like to go all out like I do. When I saw this pin for Halloween decor on Pinterest, I knew it was the perfect budget-friendly decoration for ALL holidays because you can customize it however you want. It looks great during the day and at night. The best part is you can make it last year after year by simply covering it in clear contact paper. Enlist your kiddos to help you out, and now you’ve got a keepsake to decorate with during the holidays. My kids and I had a blast decorating our windows with silly and scary pumpkin faces for Halloween (a great thrifty alternative to all those pumpkins that you eventually have to throw out) . I don’t know who’s more excited about the window silhouettes- my son or me. Either way, I think we’ve started a new family tradition. Here’s all you’ll need to make these cute and customizable window silhouettes:
Materials:
- Black poster board
- Pencil
- Ruler (optional)
- Stencils (optional)
- Scissors
- Clear Tape
- TIP: If you’re like me and aren’t that talented drawing pictures freehanded or don’t have a stencil of something you want, you can always print out a picture from your computer and trace it onto the poster board by placing the picture on top and applying enough pressure with a pen or pencil that the poster board is indented with the picture.
- TIP: If you want to use the decorations longer, simply both sides in clear contact paper, and cut out.
